Every Shopify app list recommends the same American-focused apps. But Saudi stores have different needs: Arabic language support, Mada payment integration, SMSA shipping, and mobile optimization for STC and Mobily networks.
We have tested hundreds of apps on real Saudi Shopify stores. Here are the only ones worth installing — tested for speed impact, Arabic compatibility, and actual results. For complete Shopify optimization, read our Shopify SEO Guide.
SEO Manager by Plug in SEO — Best all-in-one SEO app. Handles meta tags, schema markup, broken links, redirects, and image alt text. Speed impact: minimal (adds ~30KB). Cost: Free plan available, premium from $20/month. Our top pick for most Saudi stores.
JSON-LD for SEO — If you only need schema markup and your theme handles everything else, this is the lightest option. Adds proper Product, Review, and Organization schema with zero visible speed impact. Cost: $299 one-time.
Weglot — Easiest way to make your Shopify store bilingual. Automatically translates your store and lets you manually edit translations. Supports proper RTL and hreflang tags. Speed impact: moderate (~100KB). Cost: From $15/month.
Langify — More control than Weglot but requires more manual work. Better for stores that want perfect Arabic translations. Speed impact: light. Cost: $17.50/month.

Tabby — Buy now, pay later. 23% of Saudi online transactions use BNPL. If you do not offer Tabby, your competitors do. Increases average order value by 15-30%. Free to install (Tabby takes a commission).
Tamara — Alternative BNPL provider. Some Saudi shoppers prefer Tamara over Tabby. Offering both is ideal for maximizing conversions.
Mada Payment — 67% of Saudi shoppers use Mada cards. If your store does not accept Mada, you are losing two-thirds of potential buyers.
SMSA Express — The most trusted shipping provider in Saudi Arabia. Their Shopify app shows real-time shipping rates and estimated delivery dates. Essential for stores serving Riyadh, Jeddah, and all Saudi cities.
Aramex — Best for cross-border shipping to UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain. Also good for domestic Saudi delivery in Eastern Province.
Judge.me — Free plan available. Supports Arabic reviews. Generates review schema markup automatically. The best value review app for Saudi stores. Speed impact: minimal.
TinyIMG — Compresses images automatically to WebP format. Reduces page size by 40-60%. Essential for mobile optimization on Saudi networks.
Any app that adds a chat widget with heavy JavaScript. Any app that loads external fonts you do not need. Any app you installed more than 3 months ago and have not used since. Check your theme.liquid file for leftover scripts from uninstalled apps.
Before installing any new app, audit what you already have. Go to your Shopify admin, click Settings, then Apps and sales channels. Count your installed apps. If you have more than 10, you almost certainly have bloat. Now check your store speed at PageSpeed Insights. Note the score. Then temporarily disable your apps one by one and retest speed. You will be shocked at how much some apps slow down your store.
Many app developers inject JavaScript and CSS on every single page, even pages where the app functionality is not needed. A reviews app that loads its scripts on your homepage and cart page (where there are no reviews) is pure waste. After auditing 40+ Saudi Shopify stores, we find an average of 4-6 completely unnecessary apps and 2-3 apps with better, lighter alternatives available.
Installing the right app is only half the battle. Configuration matters enormously. The most common mistakes we see: Tabby and Tamara both installed without testing which one converts better for your audience. Language apps set to auto-translate Arabic instead of using manual translations by native Gulf Arabic speakers. Shipping apps showing delivery estimates based on US standards instead of Saudi same-day and next-day expectations.
For SEO specifically, many stores install an SEO app but never configure it properly. Default settings generate generic meta titles and descriptions that are identical across hundreds of product pages. This creates massive duplicate content issues that hurt your entire store ranking. Take the time to configure templates with dynamic product name, price, and category variables. For complete SEO optimization, read our Shopify SEO guide.
